A DISCOVERY WORTH SHARING
Trivia comes from a three-road crossing
Trivia is the plural of Latin trivium, a place where three roads meet. Because crossroads were public and common places, related words developed senses such as ordinary or commonplace.
Why it’s interesting
Much later, trivia became the English word for small facts or information of little consequence.
