A DISCOVERY WORTH SHARING
Tantalize comes from the punishment of Tantalus
Tantalize is named after Tantalus from Greek mythology. He was punished by standing near water and fruit that moved out of reach whenever he tried to drink or eat.
Why it’s interesting
That story matches the verb’s meaning: to tease someone with something desirable while keeping it unavailable.
